September 2015: Michele
Congratulations to our September athlete of the month Michele Higgins! Michele is the definition of perseverance! This woman never stops! In the short amount of time that she's been with us she's made huge gains! She is committed to good form and perfecting skills and you can see this every time she comes to class because she's getting better by the week! Keep up the good work Michele we are all so proud of you!
August: Sydney
Congratulations to our August athlete of the month: Sydney Higgins! Sydney is only 15 years-old making her our youngest member in the adult classes, but you would never know it watching her workout! Since she walked through our doors in March it is clear to see that she has dedicated herself to becoming a competitive athlete! Sydney does a great job of taking her coaches' advice and putting it into action. Almost every time she comes to class you can find her practicing one of her skill sets or doing extra cardio/stretching afterwards. It's the little things that really make good athletes, and she's definitely on her way!! We are all so proud of you and all your hard work and can't wait to see you achieve all your goals!!
A few words from our athlete of the month:
"I'm so excited to be athlete of the month! I want to thank my coaches for teaching me so much and for pushing me to be better and stronger than I ever thought I could be. Because of you, I’m more energetic and athletic than I have ever been, and I’m so much better at volleyball, too! I also have to thank my mom, for being my workout buddy and enabling my shopping addiction. I know I’m a lot younger than most of the people I work out with every day, so I’d like to thank everyone for being so kind and welcoming to me. Crossfit has made me want to set goals for myself and work hard to achieve them, even if it means staying at the gym for an extra hour or two. I’m so grateful you’ve noticed how far I’ve come, but I’m not even close to accomplishing all the goals I’ve set for myself. I still have a lot more work to do, and I’m looking forward to it!"
July: Tony
Congratulations to our July athlete of the month Tony Romagno! Tony has been a member of Crossfit Transformation literally since we opened our doors. Prior to that he was doing personal training multiple times a week. In the span of about 4 years Tony has managed to loose and keep off over 70lbs!!!! A side from this physical changes his work ethic in the gym has also dramatically changed! He attacks every workout he does with all that he has and is now able to RX almost all his wods, including the ones with high level gymnastics skills which are no longer a weakness for him. His technique, form and strength have dramatically improved and he had recent 15-20# PRs on most of his lifts to prove it! Tony you are the definition of what Transformation is all about! Congratulations and keep up the good work!
June: Kyle
Congratulations to our May athlete of the Month Suzie! Suzie has been at CFT a lil over a year now, when she walked through our doors, I think it was safe to say that she was a runner! Now we like to think that she's a CrossFitter who runs!!! Competitor at heart Suzie has competed in numerous CrossFit competitions and even took third place in the Oct 2014 Festivus Games!!! She works hard for it every time she's in the gym! We refer to her as our "lil Annie" always smiling and always powering big weight (although she does squat now too!) Not only does she do a great job of continuously pushing herself but she's constantly pushing and encouraging others around her to give it their all! One more huge accomplishment for Suzie came at the end of April when she completed her Masters!!!! Congrats Suz we are all so proud of you inside and outside the gym!
A few words from our Athlete of the month:
Well, it wouldn't be me if this wasn't coming late...I was honored to be the May athlete of the month! The members and coaches at CrossFit Transformation are some of my most favorite people, and have become a second family to me, always pushing me to try my best. Two years ago I never would have thought I would be competing in crossfit competitions and I didn't even know who Rich Fronning was (sorry Amy). It's crazy how fast time flies and how much fun a grueling workout can actually be when you're working out at CFT! Thanks to everyone for pushing me in class and giving me something to look forward to every day. I'm thankful to have become a part of this group!
wink emoticon
April: Neal
Congratulations to our April Athlete of the Month Neal! If you dont know who Neal is it's probably beacuse your not a morning person... Neal is our 6am Warrior!!! You want to talk about dedication?! Since we opened our doors Neal has dedicated himself to coming 3x a week bright and early rain or shine, and more times then not he's the only one in the class, but that hasnt stopped him and it shows! If you take a walk over to our PR boards you will proudly see his huge achivements, but more impotantly if you get the chance to talk to him he will tell you how dramtically he has improved his overall health! Most of you probably dont know this but Neal is our oldest athlete, and puts most people half his age to shame! He is a hard worker and never gives up. Congratulations Neal you have been a huge staple in our CFT family even if we dont see you as much as we'd like to we are all so very proud of you!!!
A Few Words from our Athlete of the Month:
I am very honored to have been selected as the April Athlete of the Month. It wasn't that long ago they my name and "athlete" could not even be uttered in the same sentence unless I was watching one on TV! I am a charter member of this group and I have never regretted my decision to join. I started out a couple of years ago and tried out the "Transformation" program at Champion's. I took my first class with Jess and didn't even make
it a half hour before we stopped the class and she offered me a granola bar! Then I met Sarah with purple hair! I thought "Oh boy, this is going to be weird!" Along with Ida, Sarah and Jess, I have come along way. I have learned that a burpee is more than just relieving yourself of gas and you really have to explode your hips to get that kettle bell in the air. I am so thankful to all of them and everyone of the friends I have met along the way who have encouraged and strengthened me. I am not the best, the fastest or the strongest athlete in the group and I am not really much of a competitor. However, I do compete against my former self as I strive to be better today than I was yesterday. Over the last couple of years I have lost 50 lbs, set several PR's, run the Mountain Goat, two half marathons and several 5K races. I am living proof that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks and it is never too late to change your life! Crossfit has changed my life. I now believe I can push myself to greater limits not only in the gym, but in work and everyday life. I cannot thank my coaches Jess, Sarah, Ida and Jon enough for all their help and encouragement. I wouldn't be where I am without you guys. Thanks again for honoring me as "Athlete of the Month"!!
March: Sara & Alex
Congratulations to our March Athletes of the Month Sara and Alex!!! Another dynamic duo in the gym, both are very deserving of the award, and for the safety of their household we thought it would be best if we awarded them at the same time!!! Sara and Alex are extremely competitive with each other, while this may work against some couples, it defiantly appears to be working in their favors. In the past 6 months the both of them have grown tremendously! The reason being?!?... They want to! You know what days they come to class and they are always there! The both of them are always early and usually are some of the last people to leave. Not because they are talking to everyone but because they are working on weaknesses and trying to get better! Aside from being great athletes they are also just awesome people!! Great to have in class and always very welcoming to others. We are so happy the both of you are apart of our CFT family!
And now a few words from our athletes of the month:
We were both elated to hear we were athletes of the month (although neither one of us shares very well, but I guess we will have to suck it up)! We both feel so fortunate to have found our way into this CrossFit family, and are so lucky to have been welcomed with open arms by everyone. You all have helped push us individually to be better athletes and people and we both feel that we have gained so many (hopefully) long term friends. Without the encouragement of our co-athletes and amazing coaches we would not have signed up for The Open, which both of us are now discussing how we will approach and conquer each WOD!
December’s athlete of the month is another one of our members that has been with us since our doors opened! Since day one she has put 100% into everything that she does and it absolutely shows! Always with a smile on her face shes a joy to have in class and to be around!! She is a great competitor having done numerous competitions and currently tied for first place in the individual league... She is proof that big things come in small package and the definition of hard work!!! Congratulations to Alicia you are December's athlete of the month!!
A Few words from the Athlete of the month:
First of all, I would have never imagined my name and the word athlete in the same sentence before 2 years ago. I didn’t play sports growing up, I tried many different types of exercising but nothing ever really stuck with me. Before starting Crossfit I heard rumors that it was a cult, that you would definitely get hurt, that I would start to look like a man, and that it was insanely hard! Thankfully, only one of those is true. I am so happy that I decided to try Crossfit. It has made me stronger not only physically, but mentally too. I have accomplished things that I would’ve never thought were possible before, and I am so grateful for that. I can’t put into words how thankful I am for our coaches; Sarah, Emily, Alex, and Jess. They support us and push us to give our all every day. Thanks again!
November: Mike& Lee
We would like to announce our first Athletes of the month... Yes two, they are a dynamic duo and both extremely deserving of the title! These two people have been with us literally since we opened our doors, they are the definition of transformation! We are so proud of all your hard work, determination and positive attitudes!!! Congratulations to Mike and Lee you two are our Athletes of the month!
A Few words from our Athletes of the month:
We are honored to be named Athletes of the Month! With the tremendous support and encouragement from our WONDERFUL coaches we are stronger, healthier and more energetic than ever before, achieving results well beyond what we thought we could do originally. We also want to thank our fellow classmates who inspire us and make CrossFit Transformation a really fun place to be. CFT has become a way of life for us, and now we can’t imagine our week without it. Thank you Sarah, Alex, Emily, Jess and Jim – you are the best!
